You have reached Rob Speare's webpage. This site has been created to serve my students -- and non students -- who are interested in supplementary Physics material outside of the classroom; and, as a repository for research thoughts .
I currently study the topology of the Large Scale structure, using something called the Genus , which is essentially a measure of "connectedness" across overdense -- or underdense -- regions in the universe. My undergraduate thesis was on this topic, and can be viewed as a paper on the ArXiv.
I also work with something called the Bispectrum , which is the "three-point correlation function" in k-space. Both of these topics relate to Gaussian Random fields and the important role of correlation functions in Cosmology.
